Edmundo González Gurrutia, a former Venezuelan Ambassador to Argentina and Algeria, said that the issue of the alleged Venezuelan government's ties with terrorist groups such as ETA and FARC "is one of the most sensitive episodes in bilateral relations with Spain."
González added that the serious allegations of the Spanish Judiciary against the Venezuelan government have exposed Venezuela's diplomatic contradictions.
"There is a constant search for confrontation. It is so easy to insult people. They have even asked the OAS Secretary General to go to hell!" the foreign affairs analyst said.
He recalled that the links of the Venezuelan government with armed groups is long-standing and stem from actions taken and statements made by President Hugo Chávez.
