Ibero-American Secretary hopes Uribe, Chávez will engage in a dialogue

The rulers are likely to meet next November 26 in the Amazon Summit in the Brazilian city of Manaus intended to adopt joint positions ahead of the Climate Conference to be held in Copenhagen

Ibero-American General Secretary Enrique Iglesias on Wednesday showed confidence that the Presidents of Colombia and Venezuela, Álvaro Uribe and Hugo Chávez, respectively, will sit and talk to solve their differences. He hopes that the Ibero-American Summit can contribute to reach this goal.

Iglesias talked about the recent tensions between Colombia and Venezuela in a breakfast organized in Madrid by the International Press Club.

Fifteen days before the Ibero-American Summit to be held in Estoril (Portugal), Enrique Iglesias expressed confidence that Chávez and Uribe will engage in a dialogue.

The rulers are likely to meet next November 26 in the Amazon Summit in the Brazilian city of Manaus intended to adopt joint positions ahead of the Climate Conference to be held in Copenhagen, the Ibero American Secretary General recalled.

The Ibero-American Summit will take place in Estoril from November 29 to December 1. Iglesias insisted: "Hopefully, the Summit can help. Nothing would make me happier."
