About USD 1,981.52 needed a family to cover the cost of the family basic consumption basket last October, a hike of USD 31 and a 1.6-percent variation.
The annualized variation stood at 30.6 percent, that is, USD 463.8, according to a report from the Documentation and Social Analysis Center, Venezuelan Teachers' Federation (Cendas-FVM).
The monthly variation of the family basic consumption basket was the result of rising prices in six out of seven items. Personal hygiene and cleaning products heightened by 4.1 percent to USD 122.81, followed by apparel and footwear, which increased by 1.8 percent, from USD 98.85 to USD 100.61.
Education rose by 1.1 percent; house rental 1.0 percent, and public utility services 0.5 percent.
