Businessmen would like scheduled electricity rationing

Economy
Carlos Larrazábal, the president of the National Council of Industries (Conindustria), asked the government to implement the rationing of power supply on an agreed upon basis to prevent any damages to manufacturing plants.

"Importantly, the State should plan this together with companies because impromptu outage causes serious damages to production," said Larrazábal.

According to the CEO, growing consumption needs investment and middle-term solutions. He particularly advocated enlarging hydro-electrical supply from the large bodies of water from southern Bolívar state.

He recalled that basic companies account for almost one third of the electric power consumption.
