Julio César Rivas, a student detained in the Yare III jail for taking part in a demonstration against the recently enacted education law, has been released by the 37th Control Court, reported attorney Alfredo Romero.
However, Rivas was remanded on bail.
The lawyer explained that as soon as the student leaves the prison, he will go to the head office of the Organization of American States (OAS), where a hunger strike began to ask for his freedom.
Gonzalo Himiob, another of Rivas' attorney, said that Rivas' release is just "the initial victory," as there are still political prisoners for whom to fight.
It was disclosed that the students will keep on hunger strike.
