Yajaira Castro de Forero, wife of Commissioner Lázaro Forero, believes that as more people join the hunger strike started by some students outside the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS), the pressure to the OAS to send an observation mission to Venezuela to monitor the condition of political prisoners will significantly increase.
Mrs. Forero said that "as more people join the hunger strike and not only join the strike but maintain it, there will be pressure. Nevertheless, this fact is disturbing for the relatives of political prisoners since it is dangerous for their health."
Castro said that she has not been informed so far if former Commissioner Henry Vivas will join the hunger strike. She does not know either the conditions of her husband and other prisoners after they started a strike.
