Following the confirmation by the Colombian government that the weapons seized from the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) were supplied by the Venezuelan government and the confirmation by the Swedish firm of the sale, Venezuelan Minister of the Interior and Justice Tareck El Aissami labeled the event as "media show."
"It is part of an attack on our people, the government and its institutions," lamented El Aissami.
"We would not be surprised if the Raúl Reyes' super computer shows up again with a weird setup. Whenever the government of President Hugo Chávez replies with successful results in the field of drugs, in the field of crime, there are attempts at disqualifying it on the grounds of infamy and lies, ludicrous claims," said the minister during a press conference.
He clarified that the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry "will timely issue a communiqué to rebut the remarks made by Colombian Vice-President Fernando Santos and ascertain the accusations with the Swedish government."

This mostly explains the relationship and "debt" between the parties, as revealed by a paper of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) of the United Kingdom.
