FM Maduro denounces "campaign" against Venezuela

Foreign Affairs
Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Nicolas Maduro on Monday described as a "brutal campaign" against his country the reports that Swedish weapons sold to Caracas were seized by the Colombian government from the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC).

Maduro stressed that such accusations are aimed at "justifying" the military agreement that Bogotá and Washington are pondering and which will allow the US to use military bases in Colombia, reported AFP.

"This campaign that begins today has only one goal: to justify the presence of US military bases in Colombian soil," added Maduro.
