CTV backs Ledezma, asks for trade union observers

Politics
The Venezuelan Workers Confederation considers that the Inter-American Democratic Charter is violated in Venezuela for disregard of working conditions; for this reason, they support Caracas Metropolitan Mayor Antonio Ledezma, who went on hunger strike to request the Organization of American States (OAS) to attest to the Venezuelan reality.

CTV Secretary-General Manuel Cova gave the news during a press conference, where he also reported that they will ask for the visit of a delegation of the Trade Union Conference of Workers of the Americas.

"Democracy gets stronger by better labor conditions and quality of life of workers in the hemisphere. Article 10 of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, among others, has been violated by this government, because workers are not paid their wages, are not ensured their right to work, their labor and living conditions have not improved,"

He added that the CTV will join efforts with workers in Andean Táchira and Falcón states, who will also express their support to the protest of the Caracas Metropolitan mayor and workers on hunger strike.
