Around 65.45 percent of voters took part in the polls

The National Electoral Council (CNE), following count of
95.67 percent of the ballots forwarded to the top electoral
body, early on Monday, November 24, reported that opposition
candidates won three state governor's offices and the Caracas
Capital District Mayoralty, while pro-government candidate
won 17 governor's offices.
CNE president Tibisay Lucena congratulated the Venezuelan
people for their civility in the election day. "We want to
congratulate the people of Venezuela for their joy and democratic
spirit. Around 65.45 percent of voters took part in the polls,
which represents the highest turnout over the last few years
in an election of governors and mayors. Congratulations! Thank
you very much for your patience, enthusiasm, and responsibility
of going out and vote."
The opposition candidates won the governor's offices of northwestern
Zulia state, where Pablo Pérez obtained 53.59 percent
of ballots; in north central Miranda state, where Henrique
Capriles Radonski gained 53 percent of ballots; and in north
eastern Nueva Esparta state, where Morel Rodríguez was
re-elected with 67.64 percent of ballots.

Two years later, subsequent to the bank interventions that affected 14 private institutions, Public Prosecutor Office maintains investigations open, these concern the public funds that ended up at some of those organisms and were utilized in shady financial operations, this is included among the accusations held by the Public Ministry against some bankers.
