Vice-President says that enacted laws are in accordance with the Constitution

The laws enacted by President Hugo Chávez in the context of the enabling law are under the Constitution, said Venezuelan Vice-President Ramón Carrizález.

He added that 16 laws were left outside the enactment, but on due time, after being cleared, will be submitted to the National Assembly (AN) "for its consideration."

Carrizález explained that after the defeat of the proposed constitutional reform last December 2nd, the Executive Office started to adjust the laws that would be changed under the reform to suit the Constitution.

"We had to sit down and remake the laws to keep them in the current Constitution, in strict accordance with the Constitution."

He claimed that the recent laws meet all the requirements, including their submittal to the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) and the ministerial council.
