Colombian ambassador hopeful of Chávez-Uribe reunion

Fernando Marín, the Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, expressed on Wednesday much hope of the outcome of a meeting to be held next Friday by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and his Colombian counterpart Álvaro Uribe.
 
"President Uribe is coming to Venezuela on July 11th to meet with President Chávez and, in this regard, we are very hopeful that this bilateral meeting will yield dividends for the two peoples' growth," he said.

"After the events known by everybody, this visit to Venezuela by President Uribe is very important to power the bilateral relations," said the ambassador.

"President Uribe will be arriving in Coro approximately by midday; later there will be some meetings at the Amuai Industrial Complex and a luncheon attended by the heads of delegations," the diplomat reported.

"Subsequently, there will be a joint declaration and signing of agreements, and at 5:00 p.m. there will be a press conference on site before President Uribe departs to Colombia early in the evening," said Marín.

The diplomat gave the news during a press conference offered to the Venezuelan media.
