The United States Government Monday branded as "wild conspiracy
theories" accusations by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez
against Colombia and the US for being allegedly preparing
a military attack against Venezuela.
"Our focus in the region is on a positive agenda that features
things like free trade and economic development, not on any
kind of wild conspiracy theories," State Department deputy
spokesman Tom Casey said, as quoted by DPA.
Casey voiced the most conciliatory message issued by US President
George W. Bush's Government to Venezuela in the last weeks.
"Our focus in Venezuela is aimed at having god relations
with that country," Casey said.
Oil Scenario
HYDROCARBONS Rafael Ramírez, Venezuela's Minister of Petroleum and Mining and president of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) specified that oil exports to China would be equal to current shipments of Venezuelan oil to the United States.
