CARACAS, Monday January 21, 2008 | Update
Former US Ambassador to Colombia Myles Frechette said his
government has evidence of readings made by radars based in
Colombia and other countries showing airplanes loaded with
cocaine and bound for North America and other countries around
the world departing from Venezuela.
"This is a verifiable fact that has been published by the
United States for years. The Venezuelan government either
remains silent or denies this, but this is unquestionable,
as there are radars in Colombian and other countries that
are detecting their flights," DPA quoted.
According to Frechette, the drug leaves Colombian and traffickers
smuggle it into Venezuela. From Venezuela, the drug is taken
to the US and other countries.
"This has been captured electronically, I mean, there is
no way to deny this. However, the Venezuelan government always
stays there watching, like saying 'It wasn't me'", Frechette
added.
