Colombian High Commissioner for Peace Luis Carlos Restrepo
Thursday arrived in the town of San José de Guaviare
to coordinate an operation under the aegis of the Red Cross
International Committee to pick up two hostages held by the
Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC), AFP reported.
The Colombian President's Office clarified that Restrepo
would not be among the delegates that are traveling to some
place in the Colombian southeastern forest area near San José
de Guaviare to pick up politicians Clara Rojas and Consuelo
González.
According to AFP, Restrepo arrived in San José to coordinate
and facilitate the actions for the delivery of the hostages.
The hostages will be delivered to the Red Cross International
Committee and delegates of the Venezuelan government headed
by Minister of the Interior and Justice Ramón Rodríguez
Chacín, a spokesman for the Red Cross told AFP.
