Prince Felipe de Borbón, heir to the Spanish throne,
is not carrying any personal message from King Juan Carlos
to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, as opposed to what
the ruler said, diplomatic sources told Efe.
Prince Felipe will represent the Spanish State in Buenos
Aires next Monday, December 10th, during the inauguration
of Argentinean president-elect Cristina Fernández. Chávez
will attend the ceremony, too.
Chávez said on Wednesday in Caracas that he would meet
in Buenos Aires with Prince Felipe, who was "bringing a personal
message" from King Juan Carlos. However, the prince denied
to have requested any meeting, the sources reported.
The prince is not expected to transmit any message to Chávez,
not even with regard to the referendum on the draft constitutional
reform held last Sunday.
Since last November, when King Juan Carlos asked Chávez
to keep his mouth shut during the Ibero-American Summit held
in Santiago de Chile, the Venezuelan ruler has demanded repeatedly
the monarch's apologies.
