Pro-government party Podemos deputy Ismael García Tuesday
rejected the the National Assembly's effort to keep the draft
reform of the Constitution alive as it was proposed by President
Hugo Chávez, since it was "defeated" in last Sunday referendum.
García ruled out that Podemos gives its vote to support
an initiative discussed Tuesday in the Congress, which states
that the National Assembly would back President Chávez's
intent to keep advancing his draft reform.
"We cannot keep working on a proposal that was defeated by
society, keep insisting and trying to formulate it in a different
way," said García.
Oil Scenario
HYDROCARBONS Rafael Ramírez, Venezuela's Minister of Petroleum and Mining and president of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) specified that oil exports to China would be equal to current shipments of Venezuelan oil to the United States.
