CARACAS, Sunday December 02, 2007 | Update
Opposition La Causa R party leader Andrés Velázquez
congratulated the Venezuelan people for "taking up the standard
of freedom," and rejected the fact that government sources are
leaking information that the constitutional reform proposed
by President Hugo Chávez was approved in Sunday referendum.
Velázquez urged the foreign news media to stop echoing
information that favors Chávez's government. "This report
has been spread in the government's interest."
Opposition Primero Justicia party leader Julio Borges visited
the headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE), claiming
he saw "much agitation and desperation on the government side."
"They are disclosing wrong results and are visiting (foreign)
media to force the results."
