The Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez said that he will
have “no type of relationship” with the Colombian government
and its president as long as Álvaro Uribe is at the presidency
of that country.
“As long as Uribe is the Colombian President I will have
no relationship either with him or his government. I
cannot, because of dignity,” Chávez said during an event
in the western Táchira state.
Venezuela called back its Ambassador to Bogota, Pável
Rondon, after freezing relation between both countries following
Uribe’s decision to terminate Chávez’s mediation in the
talks with rebel FARC for a swap of prisoners.
