CARACAS, Tuesday October 23, 2007 | Update
University students Tuesday continued marching to Sociedad
corner, near the headquarters of the National Assembly, where
they are delivering a document asking for adjournment of a
referendum on the proposed changes to the Constitution.
Around 12:50 p.m., demonstrators reached Sociedad corner,
their scheduled point of arrival.
Earlier, Metropolitan Police officers threw tear gas canisters
at protesters to break up the march. Students, however, managed
to trespass the police blockade and continued marching to
the National Assembly. After a brief confrontation with police
corps, students continued walking to Sociedad corner.
