Peruvian opposition leader Ollanta Humala Tuesday said that
delivery of canned tuna with photos of him and Venezuelan
President Hugo Chávez to earthquake victims in Peru "is
despicable" and put the blame on President Alan García.
"This is something despicable from a sick mind that, in such
a situation of national shock, is trying to do cheap politics,"
declared Humala to private radio station RPP, as quoted by
AFP.
"We categorically reject it. We did not do it. Fortunately,
I have been in Pisco and I do know what I have delivered.
National congressperson and mayors know what we have delivered
(…) Then, where do those cans came from? Sadly, I think clues
point at some government circles," Humala added.
