Replying to a petition made by the Inter-American Commission
on Human Rights (IACHR) for the Venezuelan government to provide
information about the people injured and arrested during recent
demonstrations advocating freedom of expression and private
television station RCTV, the Venezuelan Ombudsman Germán
Mundaraín said the demand "infringes the principle of

He added that IACHR is encroaching functions that do not

or a free associated state."
