CARACAS, Tuesday May 29, 2007 | Update
Workers in Caracas left their offices Tuesday for some minutes
to protest non-renewal of a broadcast license for private
TV channel Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV).
A group of workers rallied in front of the University of
the Armed Forces (Unefa), located in Chuao, eastern Caracas.
Employees near Las Mercedes Avenue, blocked by students today,
went out also to support the students. Some decided not to
go back to their posts and joined the students in Chacaíto
on their march towards the Organization of American States
(OAS).
In the meantime, students of Central University of Venezuela
(UCV), Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) and Santa
María University rallied again in Chacaíto for the
second day in order to protest the government decision.
On Tuesday, around 11:40 a.m., the students got ready to
go to OAS for a protection order."
