Announcements during a press conference with Venezuelan and foreign journalists

* The Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez announced that his government is to create new forms of property, without eliminating the private property.

* The ruler clarified that the Fricapeca slaughterhouse could be expropriated but for the moment it has just been temporally occupied. He added that if the government decides to expropriate it will pay the owner after a "just appraisal."

* The President said he has "very fresh" data on new plots to assassinate him. He would not elaborate on the issue.

* Chávez branded as a diplomatic offensive the US President George W. Bush' visit to several countries in Latin America. Chávez added he would never receive Bush in Venezuela.

* The Venezuelan President dismissed the fine imposed on Tal Cual daily due to an editorial addressed to the youngest daughter of the ruler, saying that people have exaggerated about the fine.

HYDROCARBONS Rafael Ramírez, Venezuela's Minister of Petroleum and Mining and president of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) specified that oil exports to China would be equal to current shipments of Venezuelan oil to the United States.
