During a ceremony in central-western Lara state, where over 6,000 volunteers were sworn in, single opposition candidate Manuel Rosales reminded participants of the issues to be borne in mind on the election day. He stressed that the materials audited should not be handpicked, but lots should be drawn for them.

He advised witnesses on the importance of keeping a watchful eye over the audit, and encouraged them to remain until the very end of the process.

"According to the results -good, poor or bad, every result, every record, the copies, the witnesses ought to remain in their polling stations, defending it until the process closes, until the very end."

The candidate talked about the need to observe the laws. "It is important for us to understand that there is need to abide by the law and regulations."
