Reporters without Borders (RWB) voice Monday satisfaction for the detention of Ceferino García, mastermind of Mauro Marcano's murder.

Marcano was an anchorman in local Radio Maturín 1.080 FM and a chronicler of daily El Oriental. He was killed on September 1st, 2004 in Maturín, the capital city of eastern Monagas state.

However, the organization claimed that the arrest two years later shows sluggishness in the query and lack of conviction.

"Sure enough, the detention of Ceferino García is good news in the event of confirming his involvement in the killing of Mauro Marcano, and if his testimony helps to advance the investigation. However, in two-year term, other five people highly suspect in the crime, have not been detained," an official press release noted.
