Venezuela and Argentina strengthened Tuesday their bilateral
relations through several pacts, such as the Agreement for
the Building of a Strategic Alliance between both countries.
Presidents Hugo Chávez of Venezuela and Néstor
Kirchner of Argentina signed the agreement, which contemplates
the creation of a high level joint committee. Within 60 days,
this committee is to submit a Plan for Strategic Alliance
between both countries, which would include actions aimed
at guaranteeing their integration and promoting integration
in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The agreements were signed at the Presidential Palace of
Miraflores during the visit Kirchner is paying to Caracas,
where he will take part in the enforcement of Venezuela's
Adhesion Protocol to the Southern Common Market (Mercosur).
