Brazil is continuing diplomatic efforts to complete a sale of aircrafts to Venezuela the United States has vetoed, a move that is an unacceptable practice in world trade, Friday said an adviser of the Brazilian government.

Hugo Chávez government claims Washington blocked the sale of light fighters and reconnaissance aircrafts manufactured by Brazilian firm Embraer and comprising US parts, Reuters reported.

"You have to be very careful in the face of this affair. The relevant steps have to be made, rather than ignoring some phases. This is not an isolated situation, as a similar problem emerged with Spain," Marco Aurelio García, foreign affairs advisor for the Brazilian government told Venezuelan state TV station Venezolana de Televisión.

"The Brazilian government has adopted a very emphatic stance by saying that this is an unacceptable practice in world trade, as it runs counter the rules of world trade. Venezuela is not subject to any international sanctions at the present time," he added.

"We are going to address this issue carefully, yet firmly," García ensured.
