Opposition Acción Democrática party withdrew formally from the elections for parliament to be held Sunday, December 4th.

Secretary-general Henry Ramos Allup argued lack of transparency and distrust in the election process.

He claimed that violation of vote secrecy by means of fingerprint-reading machines cannot be solved only by removing the equipment.

There is need to check the order recorded by voting machines to prove effectively a shielded vote secrecy, he alleged.
