Richard Vivas, president of the National Lands Institute
(INTI), said the family Azpúrua, owners of La Marqueseña
ranch, has already been apprised of the so-called "rescue"
of the estate, which has been under siege by local authorities
in southwestern Barinas state.
"The term for them to exercise their right to defense expires
on Wednesday," Vivas added, explaining that authorities are
to outline the new structure of the ranch.
Regarding the deeds the Azpúruas have produced so far,
the official claimed "there is not one single document showing
that this is a private property."
