The Colombian government Tuesday said that its security forces
are not responsible for dispatching several missile parts
that Venezuelan authorities seized on Monday in a German Lufthansa
airline warehouse, an official source said.
Colombian Defense Minister Jorge Uribe reiterated that the
materials sent to Israel by a contractor were only electrical,
non-explosive parts, which were to be repaired, news agency
DPA reported.
"Our security forces, particularly the Colombian Air Force
(FAC), did not send those materials; it was the contractor,"
said the source.
According to the Ministry of Defense, this new impasse with
Venezuela would be solved quickly because the FAC is not involved
in the dispatch of the missile parts.
