US President George W. Bush voiced his concern about the situation
in Venezuela to his Argentinean counterpart Néstor Kirchner
and thanked him for his role in consolidating the democratic
stability in the region, said an official source as quoted by
AFP.
According to the source, Bush showed concern regarding some
attitudes of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, and Kirchner
ratified that he will continue "talking to the democratic government
of Venezuela," with which he signed some energy and trade agreements.
In a phone conversation that lasted some 20 minutes, Bush
underscored Kirchner's "significant role" in achieving
democratic stability in the region and congratulated him for
the growth of the Argentinean economy.
