Iranian President Mohammad Khatami Thursday arrived in Venezuela in a three-day official visit to strengthen commercial relations between the two countries and sign several oil agreements.

Venezuelan Executive Vice President José Vicente Rangel welcomed the Arabian head of State.

Tehran and Caracas are expected to sign several crude oil, gas, maritime transportation, housing construction, and agrarian agreements.

The official agenda also includes Khatami's attendance at a National Assembly session on Friday, and a visit to Ciudad Guayana for inaugurating a tractor factory.
