Colombian Foreign Minister Carolina Barco on Tuesday ensured
that she keeps on working with her Venezuelan counterpart
Alí Rodríguez Araque to find a solution to overcome
a bilateral diplomatic crisis sparked by the alleged capture
in Caracas of the ¿chancellor¿ of the Colombian Revolutionary
Armed Forces (FARC) Rodrigo Granda.
Speaking to Colombian Radio W station from New York, Barco
stated that she has entered into an ¿open and continuous dialogue
with Venezuelan Foreign Minister.¿ ¿We are engaged in this
diplomatic task and will be devoted to it during the days
to come,¿ she added.
Commenting on claims that bilateral talks to overcome the
diplomatic impasse have been labeled ¿truckers¿ diplomacy,¿
Barco just said that the Colombian and Venezuelan Foreign
Ministries have been engaged in a quiet and very constructive
dialogue, reported the Venezuelan official news agency ABN.
