Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information
Andrés Izarra stated Friday that "Venezuela has its own
list of terrorists who are being sheltered by Colombia, including
the general of the National Guard known as 'Raven.' This high-ranking
officer is involved in terrorist attacks on an embassy to
Colombia."
He added that the list of "Venezuelan terrorists who are
being sheltered by Colombia" will be made public and that
they are studying the names of "people who could be there
(in Colombia)" to be included in the list. However, he ensured
that they would proceed according to the law, without falling
into any irregular practice.
Izarra also criticized what is considered to be a contradiction
in the Colombian politics to shelter "this terrorist who is
being searched by the Venezuelan authorities." He was referring
to the fact that Pedro Carmona Estanga, who briefly replaced
President Hugo Chávez in office on April 12, 2002, reportedly
took part in a forum in a Colombian university.
