Some 25 people were left wounded in a violent protest held
by street vendors in downtown Caracas, reported the deputy
director of the Metropolitan Fighters, commander William Martínez.
Hundreds of policemen were deployed in the downtown area
to restrain the protest of street vendors. Some peddlers attacked
the security agents with bottles, stones, and fireworks.
Martínez said to AP that 25 people were injured, 12
of them by firearms.
02:57 PM. HEAVY RAINS. Venezuelan Executive Vice-President Elias Jaua reported that the government is designing plans to support farmers, cattlemen and peasants of the state of Mérida who have been hit by heavy rains that have caused crop losses.
